What makes the difference?

What makes micro® scooters better than the rest?

Safety - micro® scooters have large 120mm diameter wheels on the front – this a safety requirement under European law. In fact all the kick scooters you see sold in Australia with the smaller 100mm wheels on the front would be illegal in Europe.

Spare Parts - only micro® scooters have a full range of replacement parts and accessories. Most of our parts are screwed together, as opposed to fused, making them easier to replace.

Quality - micro® uses the highest quality materials, which makes all the difference...

All our wheels are made of premium polyurethane, ShoreA. The quality is the best available and you can feel it when you ride a micro® scooter – the feeling just isn't comparable. To see the difference take a ride, or you can just drop the wheel and see what happens; no other rebound like micro® wheels!

The rubber plugs at the end of the handle bars protect against injuries from burred edges that develop without the plugs. They also guarantee a longer life for your scooter because when the scooter falls it is the plugs, not your scooter, that hits the floor, protecting and preserving your scooter for the purpose for which it was intended.

This small plastic insert between the aluminium tubes may not seem important, but it makes all the difference. By keeping a space between the tubes, it makes for smoother gliding and in colder weather, and stops the two aluminium parts from corroding and freezing together.

All micro® scooters have ABEC5 bearings as a standard feature. These high-quality bearings guarantee a noiseless ride, and also withstand higher pressures.

The double folding mechanism is very easy to use and it assures the highest safety possible, with no room for fingers to get caught.

The brass multi-mount clips allow quick and easy securing of the handlebars to the T-tube after transportation.

The handgrips are made from non-poisonous components. This point of safety is unique and it eliminates the threat of dangerous toxins in the event of a child putting the handle bar in their mouth, or even swallowing a piece of it.

Our products have a serial number at the front which helps us to locate a scooter if there were ever a problem with the manufacturing process – so we can easily find all scooters concerned.

micro® XT details

To get the XT model right, we had to start again from the very beginning and produce a scooter that was solely designed for xtreme use, not a scooter that was designed to commute and then modifed.

High quality dual injection handgrips. The handgrips are a combination of 55A (blue part) and 35A (black part) PU guaranteeing the best comfort and grip. The T-Stem features a sandblasted finish which ensures optimum grip between this and the lower stem.

The steering tube is especially developed for the XT and made exclusively of aircraft grade aluminium.
The handle bars are secured with a new quad locking clamp, specifically designed for the XT and allows the rider the option of single hand riding.

The traditional quick release clamp has been replaced by a single lock fixed clamp that once secured, works in conjunction with the sand blasted finish of the T-Stem to ensure it remains firmly locked down during use.

Connecting the stems to the fork is now done using a double-clamp system making this connection more stable than ever before. The headset has been improved and now features new headset rings which are heat-treated for improved strength and have a much tighter tolerance than systems used on other scooters.

The new fork is thicker and longer, and also offers the rider a different rake and rider angle than was available before. The new lower rake gives riders more control over the steering and gives a more comfortable, straight riding position for tricks.

The brake on the XT is stronger than all other brakes. And the spring is longer and stronger than those fitted on any other model.

The wheels are cast onto metal cores for greater strength and to eliminate the common problem of shattered hubs. To keep the ride as smooth as possible, these wheels have been developed using 20% more polyurethane. The XT model comes as standard with 100mm wheels, and it will also accept 110 or 120mm wheels depending on rider preference.

The double T footplate has been replaced with a larger new double square section platform which provides maximum strength and support and offers riders a more uniform platform for grinds that will last and last. The new footplate is fitted with a full length of grip for a more secure footing.

The new XT is hardcore and is intended to satisfy the very best riders out there. Even the folding mechanism is gone which has been the trademark of our brand for so long, as is the adjustable handlebar height and super light weight.

Once you've bolted and locked this scooter into position and set your preferred height, that's it; get on and ride this XT to the xtreme!

micro® xtreme story

video
Following the success of the first micro® scooters it was only a matter of time before the more adventurous among us started pushing the boundaries.

In 2005, a hard core group got together and the micro® Xtreme team was formed. They built a website and included a chatroom where all riders could meet and share their experiences. All over the world young people have been infected with the micro Xtreme virus.

Today, the team has become highly professional and have competed in several competitions such as the X-games in Shanghai and the popular freestyle.ch in Zurich.

Last year for the first time ever, Terry Price achieved a doubleback flip on a scooter, which can be seen on YouTube. Terry Price is our English member of the Xtreme team.

For many years a modified micro® Bullet has been the model of choice for the best trick riders. But this scooter was not designed for this purpose, and resulted in riders needing to change their scooter 2 or 3 times a year.

In collaboration with the micro Xtreme team we have now developed the first stunt scooter in the world. This is probably the most complex scooter ever with 75% more aluminium used in its production, making the XT the most robust model available, and welded using the finest welding processes.

Scooter Tricks on Sprites & Bullets

micro® Sprites & Bullets are both good quality, strong scooters - ideal for everyday use.

But if you're into doing tricks, any breakages aren't covered by warranty. To help prevent breakages it’s most important the folding mechanism is bolted up good & tight, ensuring there is no movement at all.

This can be done by making sure the clamp of the folding mechanism is clamped up tight - or even better remove the clamp and bolt it using a couple of bolts like in the picture.

As you can see there are other ways to strengthen your scooter, depending on how hard you are on it.

But if you are breaking your Sprite or Bullet...
       ...you need a micro® XT.
